     "Work It Out" is a song by American R&B singer Beyoncé. It was released on June 11, 2002, by Columbia Records as the lead single from the soundtrack album of the film Austin Powers in Goldmember, in which Knowles stars as Foxxy Cleopatra. It was later included on the international editions of Knowles' debut album, Dangerously in Love (2003). Composed by Knowles, Pharrell Williams, and Chad Hugo, "Work It Out" is an R&B song which incorporates elements of 1960s and 1970s funk and post-disco.

Beyoncé was inspired by her sister, Solange, and former Destiny's Child band-mates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams for the writing process. Columbia Records released "Get Me Bodied" as the album's seventh and final single in the US on July 10, 2007.

     "Halo" is a song recorded by American singer Beyoncé for her third studio album, I Am... Sasha Fierce (2008). Included on the I Am... disc, it was intended to give a behind-the-scenes glimpse of Beyoncé's life, stripped of her make-up and celebrity trappings. Columbia Records released the song, the album's fourth single, to mainstream radio in the United States on January 20, 2009, and to international markets from February 20. Inspired by Ray LaMontagne's 2004 song "Shelter", "Halo" was composed by Ryan Tedder, Evan Bogart and Beyoncé. It was conceived by Tedder specifically for Beyoncé, although there was media speculation that it had been intended for Leona Lewis.

Written by Knowles, Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, and production duo Stargate, it was initially a classic rhythm and blues song until Babyface changed the arrangement and chords. The track appears on the I Am... disc, the songs on which give a behind-the-scenes glimpse of Knowles' life stripped of her make-up and celebrity trappings. It is a midtempo pop ballad accompanied by piano, strings, and drums. The lyrics describe heartache and the insecurities of love.

It was written by Robert Waller, Angela Beyincé, Scott Storch and Knowles, and produced by the last two. The song was released by Columbia Records as the fourth and final single from the album to US radios on March 14, 2004, and was available as a physical release the next month. Musically, "Naughty Girl" is an R&B and disco song that interpolates from the Donna Summer's song, "Love to Love You Baby" (1975). Influenced by Arabic music, dancehall and reggae, the song contains lyrics that reference to a celebration of sexual lust and conquest, leading up to a desire for a one-night stand.

"Why Don't You Love Me" is an R&B and dance-pop song that is set in a retro style. According to its lyrics, Knowles questions her love interest about why he does not value her fabulousness. Its 1950s-styled music video was directed by Melina Matsoukas and Knowles under the alias Bee-Z, and it stars the latter as "B.B. Homemaker". Knowles pays homage to Bettie Page in the video, which critics universally commended for its 1950's style sets and costumes. They also complimented Knowles for her acting skills.

It was written by Knowles, Rich Harrison, and Makeba Riddick, and produced by Harrison and Knowles. "Suga Mama" is influenced by 1970s funk and rock music, and contains limited elements of 1980s go-go. An R&B and soul song, "Suga Mama" is built on a hip hop and jazzy beat, and samples Jake Wade and the Soul Searchers' song "Searching for Soul", written by Chuck Middleton. Lyrically, it features the female protagonist willing to pay large sums of money to keep her love interest contented.

     "Irreplaceable" is a song recorded by American singer Beyoncé for her second studio album, B'Day (2006). The song was written by Beyoncé, Shaffer "Ne-Yo" Smith, Tor Erik Hermansen, Mikkel S. Eriksen, Espen Lind, Amund Bjørklund, and produced by Stargate and Beyoncé. "Irreplaceable" was originally a country record; it was re-arranged as a mid-tempo pop ballad with R&B influences by modifying the vocal arrangements and instrumentation. During the production and recording sessions, Beyoncé and Ne-Yo wanted to create a record that people of either gender could relate to. The song's lyrics are about the breakdown of a relationship with an unfaithful man and the song contains a message about female empowerment.

     "Green Light" is a song recorded by American singer Beyoncé. The song was written by Knowles, Sean Garrett, and Pharrell for Knowles's second solo studio album, B'Day (2006). Produced by The Neptunes, it was released as the fifth UK and seventh overall single on July 30, 2007 through Columbia Records. "Green Light" is an R&B-funk song with lyrics detailing a break-up song in which the female protagonist gives her love interest the permission to move out. The song also finds Knowles using fairly aggressive tone. Written in the key of A minor, "Green Light" samples the "uh-oh-oh-oh-oh" vocals which music critics noted to have a flagrant resemblance to Knowles' own 2003 hit single, "Crazy in Love".

It was written by Knowles, Amanda Ghost, Ian Dench, and Stargate members Mikkel S. Eriksen and Tor Erik Hermansen, and produced by Stargate and Knowles for the re-release of Knowles' second solo album, B'Day (2006). The mixing of the song was done by Gustavo Celis. "Beautiful Liar" was released on March 14, 2007, by Columbia Records as the first single from the deluxe edition of the album. A Spanish and English mixed version of the song was produced and titled "Bello Embustero".

     Dangerously in Love is the debut studio album by American recording artist Beyoncé, released on June 20, 2003 by Columbia Records. During the recording of Destiny's Child's third studio album, Survivor (2001), the group announced that they would produce solo albums to be released. Recording sessions for the album took place from March 2002 to March 2003 at several studios, during the hiatus of her then-group Destiny's Child. As executive producer of the album, Beyoncé took a wider role in its production, co-writing a majority of the songs, choosing which ones to produce and sharing ideas on the mixing and mastering of tracks.

Taken from Amil's debut studio album, All Money Is Legal (A. M. I. L.), the song serves as its second single which was released on July 4, 2000. "I Got That" is also the first single on which Knowles performs solo, that is, without the others members of Destiny's Child. The song is lyrically and thematically a female empowering one, with its message being that independent women do not need men to support them financially.

     "Crazy in Love" is the debut solo single by singer-songwriter Beyoncé, featuring rapper and now-husband Jay-Z. (All Beyoncé’s previous singles had been recorded and released during her membership in Destiny's Child.) Producer Rich Harrison, Beyoncé and Jay-Z wrote and composed the song for Beyoncé’s debut solo album, Dangerously in Love. "Crazy in Love" is an R&B and pop love song which incorporates elements of 1970s-style funk and hip hop, as well as soul. The track's horn-driven hook samples instrumentation from The Chi-Lites' 1970 song "Are You My Woman (Tell Me So)." The lyrics reference a romantic obsession that causes the protagonist to act out of character.

     "Déjà Vu" is a song by American singer-songwriter Beyoncé Knowles, featuring vocals by rapper Jay-Z. It was produced by Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins and Knowles for her second solo album, B'Day (2006). "Déjà Vu" is an R&B song, which incorporates elements of the 1970s funk and soul music. Its music is largely based on live instrumentation, including bass guitar, hi-hat, horns, except Roland TR-808 drum machine, which is a non-live instrument. The song's title and lyrics refer to a woman being constantly reminded of a past lover.
     "Déjà Vu" was released as the album's lead single to US radios on June 24, 2006. The song received generally mixed critical reviews. Many critics noted the similarities of "Déjà Vu" with Knowles' own 2003 song "Crazy in Love". Critics commended the assertiveness and the sensuality with which Knowles sings the lyrics and compared her vocal delivery to that of Tina Turner in the late 1980s. "Déjà Vu" and its Freemasons club remix version received three nominations at Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical at the 2007 Grammy Awards. It was recognized as the Best Song of 2006 at the Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards.

     Commercially, "Déjà Vu" peaked at number four on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. It topped the Hot Dance Club Play chart, the Hot Dance Singles Sales chart, and the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. The song was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). "Déjà Vu" peaked at number one on the UK Singles Chart and generally reached the top 20 in Europe. The song's accompanying music video was directed by Sophie Muller. About 5,000 fans petitioned online for a re-shoot of the video, complaining among others, the lack of theme, the wardrobe choice, and the seemingly sexual interactions between Knowles and Jay-Z.
